Swiss ski lift operators have reported business was up 6.9% last season compared to 2016-17, but note that that was one of several not particularly good ski seasons.  Compared to the five year average, business was up 1.3%

The Swiss Cable Car Association said the start of the season saw a big jump in visitor numbers by more than 35% on the previous season, which had a particularly poor start, but that improvement diminished by 31st March when the total figures were calculated.

By contrast January saw ski areas forced to close due to operational difficulties and the dangers caused by too much snowfall, reducing visitor numbers.

The figures do not include business from Easter Sunday onwards.
