ESPN Player To Deliver Live And On Demand Coverage Of British Hopefuls Competing In X GAMES ASPEN 2019

ESPNPlayer.com will deliver live and on demand coverage of the 2019 X Games Aspen across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The world’s premier action sports competition returns to Buttermilk Mountain, Aspen, Colorado for 18th time featuring top athletes competing in 20 different disciplines over four days from January 24-27th. The 23nd edition of the winter games includes snowboard, ski, snowmobile and moto events, with more than 150 competitors, among them several Olympians.
The British assault on the medal table will be led by freestyle skier James Woods, who won X Games gold in 2017’s Big Air event, and slopestyle star Isabel Atkin, who won Olympic bronze and X Games silver in 2018.

X Games Aspen 2019 will again kick-off with the Special Olympics Unified Snowboarding event featuring Australian Olympian Scotty James and three-times X Games gold medallist, Norwegian Silje Norendal. The event sees ten two-person teams, comprised of an X Games athlete and Special Olympian, take on one run of both competition courses with the winner the team that achieves the best combined time.

The Games will showcase events including Snow BikeCross, Ski and Snowboard Big Air and Ski and Snowboard Slopestyle as well as flair events such as the Snowmobile Freestyle and Snow Bike Best Trick. Coverage continues until Sunday 27th January as the Games culminates with the Monster Energy Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe Final and Snow Bike Best Trick Final.

All the action will be available on ESPN Select – the ESPN Player channel which features live events from a wide range of sports. The Games begins on Thursday 24th January at 6.00pm GMT with coverage of the Special Olympics Unified Snowboarding followed by the Men’s Ski Slopestyle Elimination. Events will also be available on demand, allowing fans to watch the action at a time that suits them.

 

TOP WINTER SPORTS ATHLETES SET TO FEATURE

The biggest names in winter sports are set to take part including Winter Olympic gold medallists David Wise, Chloe Kim and Anna Gasser. They will be joined by double Winter Olympic champion and six-time X Games gold medallist – snowboarder Jamie Anderson.

 

X GAMES LIVE ON ESPN PLAYER

Fans can watch all the X Games Aspen 2019 action live and on demand on ESPN Player.
