Crans-Montana, one of the world’s premier winter and summer mountain resorts, has appointed Mountain Press and its brands, Ski Press and Cycle Press, to represent its media relations interests in the UK and Ireland.
Located in the Valais region of Switzerland, the French speaking resort is renowned for its quality of accommodation, services, cuisine, retail possibilities and all-year mountain activities. The extensive ski area has vast on-piste and off-piste opportunities up to an altitude of 3,000 metres – with the town situated on a high plateau at 1,500 meters, overlooking the Rhone Valley and beyond to what is considered to be one of the finest views of the Alps, from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn and beyond.
During the summer, the resort offers mountain biking and road cycling opportunities alongside a world class golf course that hosts The Omega European Masters, attracting the very best golfers from around the world. Other Alpine activities including hiking, climbing and water sports on the towns very own Etang Long.
The new Chalet Alaïa is a year-round action sports centre, opening in January 2019, with over 5,000 m2 of indoor and outdoor space for freestyle skiing and skateboarding.
Commenting on the appointment of Mountain Press, Sales Manager of Crans-Montana, Pierre-Henri Mainetti, said: “We are delighted to be working with Mountain Press in the UK to help us reach more skiers, snowboarders and cyclists who want to travel to the mountains during the summer and winter. Crans-Montana offers so many possibilities for visitors from the UK, including easy access via Geneva Airport and also nearby Sion during the weekends in the busy winter period with the airline SWISS. We have a fantastic product here and we are looking forward to sharing our news and stories more with the British public”.
Rob Stewart, PR Director of Mountain Press, said: “It’s very exciting for us to be working with Crans-Montana. On a personal level, I have had some fantastic experiences in the resort over the past 25 years – it was the very first place I skied in Switzerland and I’ve been back many times since. Crans-Montana offers a unique blend of a highly sophisticated town with the kind of skiing that suits every level, particularly intermediates who enjoy long runs but also experts who enjoy ski touring and off-piste away from the crowds. The Valais region in summer is second to none when it comes to mountain holidays and Crans-Montana has become a name synonymous with cycling, golf and mountain biking during the past few years and we are delighted to have the opportunity to spread the word about this amazing destination”.
