The very first indoor and outdoor action sports centre in Western Switzerland is due to open in February 2019 – Chalet Alaïa is located in the Lens area, close to the resort of Crans-Montana and is a world class training facility for freestyle skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels as well other types of street sports enthusiasts including skateboarders.
Crans-Montana, which is already renowned for its parks (snowpark, bikepark and wakepark), is continuing to develop its choice for thrill-seekers. The latest is Chalet Alaïa, a true temple for action sports, which will be opening its doors in February 2019. High quality infrastructure such as trampolines, indoor ramps, foam pits, bowls and a magnificent outdoor skatepark means it will be possible to enjoy different sports year-round.
Pierre-Henri Mainetti, Sales Manager of Crans-Montana, said: “We are delighted that Chalet Alaïa decided to build their centre here in Crans-Montana. It reflects the dynamic nature of the resort and adds even more opportunities for younger people and families to enjoy the kind of world class facilities that we are creating. Crans-Montana is already well known for its Alpine ski racing heritage but we are now one of the leading destinations for freestyle skiers and snowboarders too. Chalet Alaïa is a fantastic addition to the resorts facilities and we are delighted that it’s opening for this winter”.
Children and young people who want to develop their skills can take part in winter and summer camps, practising tricks learned at the Chalet in the different parks throughout Crans-Montana. With over 5,000 metres squared of indoor and outdoor infrastructure, Switzerland will now be able to offer one of the largest and most complete action sport centres of its kind.
In the summer of 2020, the Alaïa Wave will open – the first outdoor surf centre in Switzerland, located in the central Valais area close to Crans-Montana.
