Quicksilver X We Are Spindye: Clean Colours For Sustainable Mountainwear

Quiksilver announce their inaugural collaboration with We Are SpinDye®, as part of this season’s mountain collection. The iconic Australian brand known for blazing trails in the surf and snowboard space is the first in the industry to team up with We are SpinDye®, the Swedish ingredient brand currently makes waves through their highly innovative textile colouring method.

According to recent research by the World Bank, about 20 percent of all water pollution worldwide can be directly linked to the textile industry, and more precisely, the dyeing process of fabrics. Finding an alternative, more sustainable solution is a matter of highest urgency, with the planet living through a period of persistent water crisis. We are SpinDye®, pioneered a nqew approach in which colour is integrated in the material from the start, resulting in 90 percent less chemicals and up to 85 percent less water usage. Furthermore, the technology reduces the average carbon footprint by 25 percent, cuts energy usage by 30 percent and utilizes recycled and traceable polyester, all making for a greener future.

The colours in Quiksilver’s new SnowSpinDye Jacket line are extremely resistant to sunlight and other environmental impacts, making them more durable; a major contributing factor to the reduction of consumption in the long run.
