The French group MND—via its SUFAG brand, a major player in the cultural snowmaking market—has renewed its partnership with the International Ski Federation (FIS) making them the “Official Product Partner” for another four years. The signing took place on May 31 in Dubrovnik, Croatia during the FIS Calendar Conference.
SUFAG will provide the FIS with snow guns to ensure sufficient ski slope snow coverage thus ensuring smooth-running competitions for official calendar events.
Alpine ski racing pistes require quality snow that resists to the passage of participants throughout all disciplines. Among the snow guns provided to the FIS, SUFAG will provide its new Makalu model. Unveiled three weeks ago at the Interalpin trade fair in Innsbruck, the Makalu features the most advanced technologies to produce very high quality snow in line with SUFAG’s reputation, with more power and even lower energy consumption.
For the past two years, MND group has also been a partner in the Bring Children to the Snow programme to support the FIS in a vast operation to promote snow activities for children and youth in winter. MND group has joined forces with the FIS in setting up urban events dedicated to snow sports. SUFAG installs their equipment to create a temporary space where families can enjoy the pleasures of snow in the middle of the urban jungle.
Sarah Lewis, FIS Secretary General says: “MND Group and SUFAG are historical partners of the FIS and are committed to supporting the development of ski racing and ski in general. It is essential for the federation and all stakeholders to have the main industrial players at our side and we are delighted with the renewal of this partnership which aims at opening new horizons. ”
Vincent Douillet, Managing Director of SUFAG and member of the MND Group Executive Committee says: “Our SUFAG brand is a long-standing official partner of the FIS. We are delighted to renew our commitment to international bodies to make sure alpine ski competitions continue to run smoothly around the world. It is a great showcase to promote skiing and we are proud to contribute to it. This partnership is an extension of the strong relationship we have had with FIS for the past eight years by supporting various programmes such as “Bring Children to the Snow” that promote winter sports to younger generations by helping children ski around the world. “
